Second Place: GRADE 4 Second Place Jayden Leaokittikul Bagby Elementary School Cambrian School District

Virtual Celebration will be held on April 28, 2022, from 4-5 p.m. https://www.sccoe.org/sclis/mla/Pages/default.aspx

Jayden's Art Statement:
Sawasdee or Wai is how Thai people greet each other, like the Indian Namaste. A Wai is placing the palms together in a prayer pose just under the chin. A Wai can mean "Hello," "Thank you," "I'm sorry," or "Goodbye." Thai Wai is the most charming and safest way during the global Coronavirus pandemic instead of handshakes or hugging. As an Asian - American, I would like to introduce my "Sawasdee or Wai" to the world. I wish the world would be peaceful when people respect each other.

2. Young Artist Showcase 2022: 4th Grade: People’s Choice Award: Jayden Leaokittikul - Get Out of My Comfort Zone - Bagby Elementary, Cambrian SD
The virtual Young Artist Showcase Celebration will be on Thursday, May 19, 2022

Jayden's Art statement:
During Coronavirus Pandemic, I have been in virtual school since February 2020. Because I have my health issue, I had to stay home and study online. Being at home every day made me feel bored and tired, and I missed my friends, and I kept waiting to be back to normal soon. One of the best advantages of this pandemic was my mom allowed me to have a Maltese-Shih Tzu puppy for the first time, and she became a member of our family. She is my buddy, and I love her so much.

When I went out hiking at the lake, I felt fresh and relaxed to be out of my comfort zone. Being in nature recharged my batteries and refreshed my energy. I want to show my audiences by expressing my feeling and emotion through my artwork.

So proud of these incredible accomplishments!
