Ken Foreman is the Senior Pastor of Cathedral of Faith Church, a 12,000 member church in San Jose.

People say Pastor Ken is a cross between Walt Disney and C. S. Lewis, artfully combining creativity and theology, helping people experience God’s dream for their life in refreshing, user-friendly ways. If you attend one of his sermons at the 12,000-member Cathedral of Faith in San Jose, California, you might be fortunate to encounter Ken’s gift. He blends Scripture with engaging examples that bring an exciting perspective to living out a Christian life. Don’t be surprised to witness a live cheetah in service, Ken in full Indiana Jones regalia, or a visit from a top celebrity. Ken’s imagination is boundless, and that’s just what you’ll experience in his book, Imagine Living Your Dream. He and his wife, Alisa, have two grown children, Blake and Lauren, and two grandsons.

Pastor Ken is also a Cambrian graduate. Here’s what he had to say about his time in Cambrian schools:

Catch us up on what you've been up to since your Cambrian days.

I have been a pastor on staff at the Cathedral of Faith Church since 1981. It is located just a few blocks from where I went to grammar and junior high.

Tell us one of your favorite teachers you appreciated during your Cambrian days, and why:

Mr. Trodsen was my physical education teacher in junior high.  He had a haircut like a Marine and could give you a pat on the back or a kick in the pants in order to bring out your best.

What do you think makes the Cambrian School District so special?

In my experience, the staff created a caring, creative, environment which encouraged you to reach for your dreams.

What year did you graduate from Cambrian?

I graduated back when music was music, in 1974.

Tell us a bit about your family.

I been married to my wife Alisa for 36 years which qualifies her for sainthood.  We have two grown children, Blake and Lauren, and two grandchildren, Eli and Chase.

What message would you like to send to Cambrian staff and teachers?

Thank you so much for the incredible investment you are make year after year in the children of our community. You truly are a gift to our families and our city.

How did Cambrian help you become the person you are today?

Many of the life skills that have been essential for me were groomed in those days.  Fostering a lifelong love for learning, finishing what you start, bouncing back from failure, developing grit and perseverance, these were some of the things I picked up from those days.

Tell us about a favorite memory during your Cambrian years.

Being on the wrestling team and winning my first match.

What do you wish other people knew about Cambrian?

I had a wonderful childhood and was blessed to grow up in San Jose, and part of that was made possible by the District.  I had friends from back then that I still run into today.
