Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

  • As part of the Local Control Funding Formula, school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP describes how the district will spend the funds and its goals for improving student outcomes.

  • Back to School Message from Superintendent Dr. Andrews

Dear Cambrian School District Families and Friends,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2018-19 school year. We are excited to have you as a member of our community, whether you’ve been with us for many years or your child is joining us for the first time. We have so much to celebrate in our District and I look forward to sharing our continued growth throughout the year.

Cambrian School District is a caring and collaborative community with a mission to develop creative and critical thinkers who communicate effectively, value diversity and are ready to excel in a global society. On our own path of continuous improvement, we have refined our vision, mission and beliefs to more accurately reflect our core values for student success. To review our mission, vision, core values, and beliefs in full, please visit our website at

District staff worked diligently over the summer to ensure 2018-19 is a year of inspiration and growth for all students. We are beginning a new school year filled with accomplishments, continued focus and energy. Here is just a sample of what has taken place this past summer and the first week back:

    • We celebrated our District staff, recognizing talented educators and classified staff who have been a part of our team for 30 years, 25 years, 20 years, 15 years, 10 years, and newly-tenured teachers. Also, congratulations to Deborah Stein and Sherry Del Prete, Cambrian School District’s teacher and classified Employee of the Year. We are proud of their excellent work and continued service to our District.
    • A giant THANK YOU to our Cambrian community for their continued support to our students, programs and teachers. Measure H parcel tax successfully passed in July, and over the next eight years the additional funds will directly support our existing Cambrian programs and teachers. We are well on our way to dedicating funds to teacher salary increases as a result of the parcel passing.
    • This summer, many of our teachers took part in professional development opportunities such as Buck Institute’s Project Based Learning. This continued focus aligns with our vision for creativity, innovation and academic excellence.

Now that students are back in school, I encourage you to check out our District and school newsletters, in a new, easy-to-read format. You can also continue to download our Mobile App for the latest updates across the District and school sites.

It is a sincere pleasure for all of us at Cambrian School District to partner with families and our community. With our combined collective support, I am confident our students will flourish in 2018-19 and continue to make a positive difference in our world!

    Superintendent Dr. Andrews

  • California School Dashboard Updates Now Live

You may know that in March of this year the California Department of Education (CDE) released a new website designed to help communities across the state access important information about K–12 districts and schools. Called the California School Dashboard, the site features reports on multiple measures of school success, including test scores, graduation rates, English learner progress and suspension rates. The Dashboard is part of California's new school accountability system based on 2013's Local Control Funding Formula. New student achievement data from Spring 2018 will be available late fall 2018, according to the CDE.

As you may know, the majority of our schools are structured as “dependent charter schools,” which allows us to welcome students from throughout our county, not just our district boundaries. The Dashboard currently lists all charter schools as separate entities, whether they are affiliated with a district or not. Complete aggregated data is not available for our district, and parents may need to follow an extra step to find their child's school. Click here to learn more and follow the instructions to find the data for your school.
