Welcome to Sartorette 2023-2024!Sartorette Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I look forward to seeing all of our superstars and hearing about their summer adventures. Teachers have been hard at work in their classrooms getting them ready for all of you! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to them and to the Home and School Club (HSC) – our version of a PTA – who worked together over the summer to ensure that we are able to continue providing outstanding opportunities for our students.
We Need You to Get Involved!
One of the core strengths of Sartorette School is our solid home-school partnership. We are dependent on our Home and School Club (HSC) to contribute to our school culture and student success. Getting involved with the HSC is fun and is the greatest way to help both your child and the school at the same time. There are big and small ways for every adult to help, and we need each one of you and your families to maintain our strong academic and social community!
Behavior Expectations
Sartorette is a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. This is a comprehensive behavioral plan that empowers all children to make positive choices about their own behavior. You will see throughout the campus the three expectations for all students and adults.
Sartorette Superstar Standards
-
We are safe.
-
We are responsible.
-
We are respectful.
Whenever an opportunity arises to problem solve with a student, we approach the problem through the lens of our Sartorette Standards. I hope you will discuss these expectations regularly with your child to help reinforce what they are learning at school.
Important Dates
-
Fall Picture Day – Tuesday, September 26th
Arrival & Drop Off
Please read the pick-up and drop-off procedures carefully to provide a safe as possible environment for all Sartorette students.
There are two lanes that run efficiently in front of the school:
-
Passing lane on the left. No stopping.
-
Drop off lane on the right. Students should be prepared to exit the vehicle.
Respect for Students, Staff, & Fellow Drivers
-
Have students exit vehicles on the side closest to curbs.
-
Do not block lanes or leave vehicles unattended in drop off zones.
-
Use sidewalks and crosswalks.
-
Treat adult helpers with respect. We are educators promoting you and your child’s safety.
Prevent Tardies
Please arrive when the gates open at 8:05 am so your child has time to settle in when class begins at 8:15am. Missing instruction by being tardy is a difficult way for students to start the day.
Campus Safety
Campus safety remains a top priority for the district and our school. Access to the campus during the school day is available only through the school office, where we will request that you sign in and get a badge if you will be on the school grounds. Gates will be open 10 minutes before the start of the school day when supervision will be available. Before and after school care can be provided through Cambrian Extended Care Program which requires registration. Students will be escorted to dismissal by their teachers.
Dismissal Location for First Day of School
-
All students will be dismissed at the front of the school on the first day of school only.
-
Street parking and walking to pick up your child is strongly recommended.
-
Students will be escorted to dismissal by their teachers.
-
Teachers will share with students and families dismissal information for the rest of the school year.
Thank you for waiting outside the gates so we are able to maximize your child’s learning time. Playgrounds are closed until the last dismissal time. You may work with your child’s teacher to make dismissal arrangements that meet your family’s needs after the first day of school.
Measure R Update
The Modernization Project has been in full swing, working on facility repairs, upgrades, and improvements; and preparing for construction of new classroom infrastructure, such as grading, plumbing, electrical, and ADA accessibility improvements. Like other Cambrian schools, Sartorette will remain under construction during the school year so that new modular classrooms will be completed in May/June. Living under construction will require flexibility, but the end result will be worth it. We are lucky to live in such a supportive community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this communication. The faculty, staff, and I are looking forward to a great year with students and all of you!
All the best,
Debbie Stein

Free Breakfast and Lunch for All Students
Cambrian School District is pleased to offer all students complimentary breakfast and lunch meals. Meals will be available for pickup in the cafeteria during scheduled meal periods. Please consider taking advantage of our FREE school meals. It extends your grocery budget, saves time planning and preparing meals, and is comforting and familiar for kids to have school meals. In addition, every meal served is reimbursed by the USDA and funds go toward Child Nutrition staff wages. Please note that you are not taking food away from someone who needs it more – we have plenty to go around!
