• Farnham Garden Logo The Farnham Garden

In the summer of 2012 volunteer parents came together to build the Farnham Garden.   Their goal was to give students the opportunity to have a garden experience. Many volunteer parents came together to install the irrigation, build the garden beds and bring in new soil.  A garden shed was added in the summer of 2013.  Through parent donations and the support of our Home and School Club the garden continues to grow.

The Farnham Garden is an outdoor classroom with many benefits for the children.  Studies have shown that children who work in a garden develop better cooperative skills, have healthier eating habits, and perform significantly higher on science achievement tests (for 5th graders).  During the garden's first year, Mr. Hill's 5th grade class won the competitive Walden West Eco Action Award.
