Instructional Continuity Plan

In the event of an emergency such as a fire, flood, earthquake, or epidemic that closes school, the Cambrian School District will work to ensure that within five days of school closure, there is two-way communication with students and families to support student academic, social, emotional and mental health.

 

The Cambrian School District will work to have in-person instruction returned as soon as possible. If there is a gap in instruction within ten instructional days, the Cambrian School District will follow our Instructional Continuity Plan, with students beginning online asynchronous and synchronous instruction. Students will receive instruction in alignment with California state standards and which aligns with our district social emotional curriculum. If only a few schools are closed, we will work on moving student enrollment to open schools during the closure period to maintain continuity in learning.

 

The district will also enact a pupil engagement process that will include a daily check-in form for all students. The form will be sent via email or text to students and families who will fill out how they are doing in accessing instruction and mental health support. Based on answers to the forms, our Mental Health Therapists and Counselors will meet with families who indicate they’d like support.
