Educational Technology

 As part of our strategic plan, the district launched several initiatives to provide both equipment and professional development to promote the integration of educational technology into our classrooms. The mission of the Educational Technology department is to support those initiatives by providing staff with the tools and training needed to foster opportunities for their students to create, problem solve, collaborate, and communicate effectively using a range of online tools and devices.

  Digital Literacy and Responsibility With the increased usage of technology in classrooms comes a critical need to help guide our students to become responsible and savvy digital citizens.  In support of this objective, we provide resources and training to increase awareness about how to keep students safe, responsible, and learning productively while online. We support a wide variety of student educational technology.  

Professional Development The Educational Technology Department strives to develop and deliver high quality, engaging, and innovative professional development opportunities that foster growth of future ready teaching and learning skills.  As such we support teachers with training and consultation to further develop use of technology and internet based tools to support students, home to school communication, and curriculum needs.  

Assessment We support school site staff and teachers in the administration of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). This includes development of plans for preparation in specific technology usage that will be required of our students. Additionally, we support the integration of a variety of formative and summative assessment tools and practices to ensure our team of educators can make data informed decisions about instructional practices.
