State of Our Schools
Cambrian School District has served this community for more than 160 years as a place where generations of students have come to learn and grow. Today, like many school districts across California, we are navigating the realities of declining enrollment and reduced state funding while remaining committed to long-term financial stability and preserving high-quality educational programs for our students.
In recent years, Cambrian has taken significant steps to address these challenges through responsible fiscal planning. The district has implemented meaningful cost-saving measures and, most recently, made the difficult decision to close one of our beloved schools. These decisions were not made lightly and reflect our commitment to ensuring the district remains financially stable for the long term.
Despite these actions, reductions alone are not enough to fully protect the quality educational programs our community expects and our students deserve.
To help close the remaining funding gap and preserve strong academic programs, Cambrian is exploring the possibility of a local parcel tax. Parcel tax revenue would remain in Cambrian schools and could help maintain the programs, staff, and services that support student success.
