Understanding Our District Budget
School finance can feel complex, but we are committed to making it clear and transparent. Our presentation, “School Finance, Made Simple,” explains how the Cambrian School District is funded, how we build our budget, and how funds support student learning.
Most funding comes from California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), which provides revenue based on student enrollment and needs. Some funds are flexible for general operations, while others are legally restricted for specific programs.
About 80% of the district’s budget supports salaries and benefits for teachers and staff, with the remainder covering instructional materials, services, and school operations. The Board adopts the budget each June and reviews financial updates throughout the year to ensure accountability.
We invite families and staff to review the full presentation to better understand how every dollar supports students.
