School Bond Measures: Investing in Our Schools

School bond measures are a way for communities to invest in the quality and safety of their local schools. When voters approve a school bond, they authorize the district to raise funds specifically to improve and maintain school facilities, ensuring students have safe, modern, and well-maintained learning environments.

Most school districts receive state funding to support day-to-day operations, such as teachers, programs, and student services. However, that funding cannot fully cover the cost of major facility improvements, such as modernizing aging classrooms, repairing roofs and infrastructure, upgrading safety systems, or building new learning spaces. Bond measures help provide the resources needed to make these important improvements.

Bond measures are approved by local voters, reflecting the community’s commitment to supporting strong schools. These funds can only be used for school facilities and improvements, not for salaries or operating expenses.
