Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

  • As part of the Local Control Funding Formula, school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP describes how the district will spend the funds and its goals for improving student outcomes.

    Dear Cambrian School District Community, Faculty, Family, and Friends;

In an effort to keep you informed of important district matters, I wanted to take this moment to update you on our current negotiations with the Cambrian District Teachers Association (CDTA).

Like every single school district in California, and as a former teacher, I firmly believe in the idea of paying our teachers more than what they are currently being paid.

There is no denying that their passion, commitment, and dedication are a key reason why our district has been able to establish itself as one of the top districts in the region.

However, as much as we would like to provide our teachers every dollar that they deserve, our fiscal reality is one that does not allow us the opportunity to do so.

Like you, we are bound by a budget, and with that budget, we work diligently to provide our students with a strong classroom experience that is further supported by quality programs.

As our negotiations proceed with CDTA, you have my commitment that we will do everything we can to reach an agreement that financially rewards our teachers without jeopardizing the future of our district, and the amazing student experience we have built to date.

As the negotiations continue, I will keep you updated, as I believe it is critical that you are aware of how we invest your tax dollars.

    Sincerely,

     Supt. Signature

    Dr. Carrie Andrews
    Superintendent

Dear Cambrian School District Community, Faculty, Families, and Friends:

Let me begin by thanking you for taking the time to contact me with words of encouragement and offers to help. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your kindness and generosity energize me as we navigate through the District’s current budget reality.

As I stated in yesterday’s letter, the District’s current budget issues stem from the legislature and the Governor’s inability to fund public schools appropriately. The unfortunate result of this is the current statewide environment of teachers versus administrators. At Cambrian, we will not buy into that narrative, as we are a unified community and intend to maintain an environment where our teachers will always know that we value and respect them.

In response to your question about how you can help, the best way to do so is to lend your voice to our struggle by calling the Governor and our legislators and letting them know that California schools need more funding. To assist you with your outreach, I have included the contact information of our legislators and the Governor:

    Governor Gavin Newsom
    (916) 445-2841

    State Senator Jim Beall
    (408) 558-1295

    Assembly Member Evan Low
    (408) 446-2810

    Thank you for your partnership.

    Sincerely,
