     Bagby's Planned Multi-Use Room
Wonderful news! The Cambrian SD Governing Board has approved moving forward with a revised plan for the Bagby Multi-Use Project, one of three proposals submitted to bring costs within the Board’s allotted budget and allow the district to proceed with the project.  The new plan makes adjustments to the budget for roofing, flooring and the outdoor area around the site, but preserves the structure’s canopy to retain flexible outdoor space.  Please watch this space for future updates, including opportunities to provide input, as the project progresses, and thank you for your ongoing support.

Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

  • As part of the Local Control Funding Formula, school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP describes how the district will spend the funds and its goals for improving student outcomes.

We are excited to announce that after much research, editing and gathering of feedback, our website upgrade is live for the district and all six of our school sites! The new sites are easier to navigate, mobile-device accessible and responsive, and have a great contemporary look. We are in the process of continuing to optimize this new experience, so please use the "Website Feedback" button in the Popular Links section to offer suggestions.

In addition, our new App is live!  Check out this video highlighting a few of the app's useful features.

Join Us At A Math Parent Info Night

Curious about this year's implementation of our new math curriculum? Interested in how to best support your student's math learning at home? Join us at a Math Parent Info Night to learn from the experts about what your child can expect in the year ahead. No RSVP is required, and the same material will be covered at each school site, so if the event at your child's school doesn't work with your schedule, simply attend a session at a different school. PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO Math Parent Info Night at Bagby this year. Bagby parents are encouraged to attend a session at an alternate location. Sessions will be offered at:

    Fammatre -- Wednesday, Sept. 27; 6:30- 8 p.m.

    Sartorette -- Thursday, Oct. 12; 6:30- 8 p.m.

    Steindorf -- Tuesday, Nov. 7; 6- 7:30 p.m.

The Cambrian Schools 5K POSTPONED TO NOV. 5!

    run banner

We have been keeping a close eye on the air quality situation as the scheduled day of the run approaches. As the conditions continue to fluctuate wildly, in an abundance of caution we have decided to postpone the run to Sunday, November 5th at 8:30 a.m. as the health and safety of our runners is our highest priority.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are tremendously appreciative of sponsors and volunteers who have already put so much into making this a great event. Registration will remain open online for the next few weeks; if the 15th didn't work with your schedule, we hope to see you on the 5th! Runners who can no longer make the event can transfer their bibs to a friend -- simply ask for a "change order" at packet pickup to have a new name associated with the registration -- or can opt to request a refund by emailing smithd@cambriansd.com.

While we are disappointed, we are grateful that our community is minimally impacted by these historic wildfires and our thoughts are with our neighbors in the North Bay. We look forward to coming together as a community to celebrate health and wellness on Nov. 5th @ 8:30!

    *********************

We couldn't be more thrilled to bring our popular 5K event back to Cambrian SD for its second year! Last year over 800 runners joined us for a morning of wellness and play, and we expect another fantastic turnout this Nov. 5@ 8 a.m.! Learn more about our event or register now!

New CDE Data Dashboard Launched -- Find CSD Student Data Quickly and Easily

California is field testing a new website designed to help communities across the state access important information about K–12 districts and schools – including ours. Called the California School Dashboard (Coming March 2017), the site features easy-to-read reports on multiple measures of school success, including test scores, graduation rates, English learning progress and suspension rates.

    Please Note:

As you may know, the majority of our schools are structured as “dependent charter schools,” which allows us to welcome students from throughout our county, not just our district boundaries. The Dashboard currently lists all charter schools as separate entities, whether they are affiliated with a district or not. As a result, a search in the Dashboard for “Cambrian School District” only brings up information for Bagby Elementary. To see other school site information, simply use the search bar and enter the name of the site. (Note also that there is no data for Steindorf, as the school is in its first year of operation).

Mrs. Hyatt's fourth grade classroom at Farnham is holding a "Pennies for Puerto Rico" drive over the next two weeks, inviting all students and staff to raid their couch cushions and contribute spare change to the cause. All funds will go to http://unidosporpuertorico.com/en/, an initiative enacted by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatrice Rossello, to support those affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. • Meet Steindorf's First Leadership Class!

A popular program at Price for many years, this year Steindorf was able to offer Leadership as an elective to middle school students for the first time under the direction of Ms. Stein. Like their Price counterparts, these students have committed to a year of learning about the principles of service and fostering community at their schools and beyond. We wish them a fantastic year and can't wait to see what they accomplish!
