COVID-19

  • As we begin our next year, we have many more tools in our tool kit and a better understanding of COVID than ever before. Our decisions regarding what we do and how we do it will continue to be based on the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) K-12 Guidelines and Santa Clara County Health Department guidance. No matter what, our staff is committed to serving the needs of the whole child, with an appropriate academic, physical, and social-emotional curriculum.

Masks are highly recommended by our students and staff while indoors. It is important that you help keep our students healthy and schools open by mitigating your own health. Please stay home if you are not feeling well and wear a mask if needed, given your family situation.

Here is the most current information and the Decision Tree 8/2022 that all schools will use to guide families and staff:

    • Over-the-Counter Antigen tests (OCT) are accepted for determining if a person has COVID-19.

    • Symptomatic students will need to go home, test, and isolate.

    • Symptomatic students may return to school with:

      • A confirmed negative test: a picture or signed affidavit of a confirmed negative test can be brought in or sent to your school site, AND

      • Symptom improvement, AND

      • Fever free for 24 hrs without any fever-reducing medication

    • COVID-19-positive students may return to school with:

      • A confirmed negative test on days 5-10 of isolation: a picture or signed affidavit of a confirmed negative test can be brought in or sent to your school site, AND

      • Symptom improvement, AND

      • Fever free for 24 hrs without any fever-reducing medication

Important Note: If your student has an underlying health concern that has similar symptoms to COVID like migraines, allergies, or asthma, please make sure a doctor's note is on file at your school office.
