Dr. Carrie Andrews, Superintendent
Cambrian School District Superintendent Dr. Carrie Andrews has served in her role leading the District since 2014. It is her priority to communicate the mission, vision, and core values across the District and within the schools. Dr. Andrews was responsible for spearheading the development of the 5-Year Strategic Plan and District LCAP, focused on student development and achievement. As the leader of this 3,500-student District with six schools (preschool - 8th grade), Dr. Andrews is responsible for approximately 300 employees, six school sites (K-8, magnet, four dependent charters, and one regular neighborhood school) with an annual budget of $40 million.
Student development and achievement has been a priority to Dr. Andrews. As Superintendent, Cambrian Schools have seen an overall increase of 11% in CAASPP math scores and maintained a 67% overall score in CAASPP ELA scores. Dr. Andrews collaboratively led facility development through a $40 million Bond and passed an $84 Parcel in 2018 that generates approximately $800,000 each year until 2026 for the District. Dr. Andrews' oversight of District properties has yielded approximately $1.4 million annually through its leased property and rental management. She continues to focus on improving communication, collaboration, community partnerships, student achievement, and staff relations in the Cambrian School District.
Dr. Andrews received a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and earned both her Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Organization from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She has also worked at UCSB in the Teacher Education Department with graduate students and student teachers. Dr. Andrews has served as an elementary school principal and teacher.
