    Annual CAASPP Assessments

This spring students in Cambrian have been taking the annual state California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) Assessments this spring.  These assessments include:

    • Smarter Balanced (SBAC) OR the California Alternate Assessment (CAA) English Language Arts and Math (grades 3-8)
    • California Science Tests (CAST) or CAA for Science (grades 5 & 8 only)
    • Summative English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) - only students who are designated as English Learners in grades TK-8

Change to CAASPP Assessment Results Reporting

Summer 2019 marks a significant shift in the way families will receive CAASPP assessment results.  The state of California has transitioned to electronic score reports instead of sending printed reports.  This means that all student score reports will be made available in the online Cambrian PowerSchool parent portal (https://pwrsch.cambriansd.org/Public/home.html) once the state has completed scoring the assessments.

Moving to electronic score reports will provide a prompt and cost-effective means to view your child’s progress for the current year and prior years in one easy to access location.  Additionally, the electronic student score reports will be available to parents in English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, and Filipino. In the future Student Score Reports will also be made available in other languages.
