The What: The Walkathon is a school-wide event with more than 600 students, staff, parents and volunteers participating. Students walk laps and fundraise through pledges.
The Why: The pledges collected from their hard work, combined with generous donations, added $45,000 to our Home and School Club’s budget in 2018. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 but we are looking forward to 2021 whether the event be in-person or virtual! While the Walkathon helps promote health for the whole child (physical and mental), our fundraising this year will focus on supporting enhancements and general funding of our Maker Space, to further advance our school’s STEAM curriculum. We need your help to meet this goal and make it a great year!
The How: We use the online pledge platform Walkstarter. With Walkstarter, you (and your child) can easily create their own customized fundraising webpage that can be shared with friends, family, and the greater community. They’ll identify their lap walking goals and fundraising goals on this site. Additionally, they can create a customized Avatar to help personalize their page.
