I am originally from Naperville, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago.  I lived in Naperville for all of my school years.  When I graduated high school, I went off to Iowa State University where I planned to study dietetics to become a registered dietician.  Although I enjoyed the classes, I quickly came to discover that I did not want to be a dietician after all!  I had been working as a nanny for a family in town to make extra money.  I loved the experience so much that I decided that I wanted to study education to become a teacher!  After graduating college with my Bachelor's Degree, I decided to go straight into graduate school to get my Master's Degree, while at the same time obtaining my teaching credential.  I also wanted to be closer to my sister who lived in California, so I applied to Claremont Graduate University located in Claremont, California.  I taught for a few years in Southern California, but wanted to move up to the Bay Area.  I heard that a great school in San Jose was hiring so I drove up to check it out.  That is how I came to find Ida Price Middle School and I knew that it was a perfect fit for me!

      I am married to a geologist and we have one daughter.  In my spare time, I love to hang out with my husband, daughter, and friends.  We like to watch movies, play card games, and try out new restaurants.  I also love to read and cook
