I am very excited to be joining the teaching staff of Bagby Elementary School! The 2013-14 school year will mark my seventh year of teaching. Prior to coming to the Cambrian School District, I spent four years at Bullis Charter School in Los Altos, CA and two years at Cornell Elementary School in Albany, CA.  I have taught two years of Kindergarten, two years of third grade, and two years of fourth grade.  I am excited to finally be teaching the grade I have always wanted to teach - second grade!    

I received my teaching credential and MA in Elementary Education from UC Berkeley.  I was fortunate to be a part of a program that emphasized the holistic development of the whole child, including academic, emotional, and social growth. I recognize that children have individual learning styles, and I enjoy teaching through hands-on projects that integrate the personal interests, family backgrounds, and cultural values of my students. My goal as an educator is to help children develop a lifelong love of learning.

Prior to teaching, I spent several years in high tech, developing web applications and building upon my undergraduate studies in engineering.  As a result, I have a passion for integrating technology in the classroom, especially through the use of online applications and digital storytelling.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, playing board games, trying new restaurants, skiing in Lake Tahoe, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. In December, I will be getting married and moving officially to San Jose with my fiancé Jack!
