Welcome to Fammatre!
Our students, staff, and community have a strong tradition of working together to make Fammatre an amazing place to learn and grow. We are extremely dedicated to our students and families and we work hard to make sure every student gets what they need to thrive. Positive relationships, good communication and innovative approaches to learning help move each child forward in their learning goals. We look forward to partnering with you to provide an outstanding elementary school experience.
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am looking forward to meeting all of our Falcons and hearing about their summer adventures. Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 14 at 8:05 am. The first day (and all Wednesdays) is an early release day. Click here to view our Bell Schedule for release times. For those of you with children at other schools, here is the Districtwide Bell Schedule.
One of the core strengths of Fammatre Elementary School is our strong home-school partnerships. Our Home and School Club contributes in so many positive ways to our school culture and supports our students, staff, and families. And it’s a lot of fun as well! If you are already active, I thank you for your continued support! If you are new to Fammatre or you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, check out the opportunities on the HSC webpage https://www.cambriansd.org/domain/129. Your child’s teacher is another important source of volunteer opportunities. There is a job for everyone – big or small!
Please keep in mind that during the first two weeks of school our enrollment is in a transition period, and there may be changes to class assignments as student enrollment stabilizes. If changes are necessary, we will do our very best to take into consideration the needs of individual students. No matter who your child is placed with this year, you can be assured that they will have a teacher who will provide them with an excellent educational experience and many opportunities to extend their learning based on individual abilities, interests, and achievements.
Campus safety is an ongoing top priority for the district and our school. Access to the campus during the school day is available only through the school office where we will request that you sign in and get a badge if you will be on the school grounds. Gates will be open at 7:55 am prior to the start of the school day at which time supervision will be available on the playground. AT dismissal time, please wait for your child outside the gates to help us maximize instrucitonal time.
You may have noticed Fammatre’s parking lot is extremely small. It is critical we work together to ensure everyone’s safety at drop off and pick up times. Please read the parking lot procedures carefully. We need your help in implementing these procedures to provide as safe as possible environment for all of Fammatre’s students, staff and families. We are a busy, full school and congestion on New Jersey Avenue where we drop off and pick up our students is an ongoing challenge with which we need your help.

Fammatre is a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. This is a comprehensive behavioral plan that empowers all children to make positive choices about their own behavior. One of the things that you will see throughout the campus and in each classroom are the four expectations for all students and adults at Fammatre… the Fammatre B’s:
- Be Safe
- Be Caring
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
Whenever an opportunity arises to problem solve with a student, we approach the problem through the “lens” of our Fammatre B’s. I hope you will discuss these expectations regularly with your child to help reinforce what he/she is learning at school.
I hope every one of you will attend our Back-To-School Night on Wednesday, September 4th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This is a very important opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and continue to build the vital home-school partnership that drives student success.
