Welcome to Ida Price Middle School!

  • Thank you to all families who were able to attend our Showcase Night. The turnout was amazing, it was fun to see so many excited faces getting ready to attend Price next year as a new student or having the option to have some choices for their electives. If you didn't have the opportunity to attend the event, please join us for Open House on April 4th @ 6:30pm to 8:00pm. 
    For the 2018-19 school year, Ida Price is excited to announce that there are limited spaces available to welcome new students for ALL three grade levels.
    We welcome all families of middle school aged children to attend to learn more about the curriculum, including Accelerated Math and English programs for upper grade students, with outstanding electives, including 21st Century Computers, Theater Arts & Drama, Spanish, Journalism, Project Lead The Way & Media Production, Multi-Focused Arts programs, award-winning Music programs, Yearbook and student Leadership programs, Mock Trial & Debate, Film & Literature and our very much in-demand Athletics programs. 
    The vision of Ida Price Middle School is to develop responsible citizens with positive self-worth, by providing a safe, friendly and fun place to be, that offers flexible scheduling, challenging, supported, integrated curriculum with many choices, so students will be able to make personal connections with real life experiences, will have opportunities to be successful and will achieve the practical skills necessary to be lifelong learners.

    Gates open at 8:00/Class begins at 8:30 
    We look forward to a great year that will include the following (and more!): 
    • Patriot’s Day, Amazing athletics, Dances, Rallies
    • World class band, percussion ensemble, choir and color guard performances
    • Science experiments, Theater presentations, Class Competitions, Spring Fiesta

    Some of the enhancements to our great school for this year include:

    • Field Trips at each grade level
    • Increased elective opportunities (computer coding, nutrition, and world percussion to name a few)
    • Increased access to support classes
    • New math curriculum grades 6-8

  • Order in the Court!

    Ms. Stein's 8th grade social studies class visited the Santa Clara County Hall of Justice today for a Mock Trial overseen by Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Andrea Flint and court staff.

    Price students came together today for a brief ceremony in memory of the victims of the tragedy in Parkland Florida and hope for a future free from violence.

  • Digital Safety in the Spotlight

    Community Prosecutor Angela Alvarado from the District Attorney’s office visited both Price and Steindorf today to speak with middle school students about digital safety. The assemblies covered how to cultivate and protect one's digital reputation, how to communicate wisely online, and how to stay safe in a rapidly changing digital world.

    A group of parents joined us this week for the first session of Project Cornerstone's "Take It Personally" Study Group, where participants explore new ways to build stronger kids, stronger families and stronger neighborhoods as their children grow from little ones to teenagers.

  • Steindorf Students Pilot Classrooms of the Future with Augmented Reality

    Steindorf students experienced Show and Tell 2.0 today thanks to the Google Expeditions Pioneer Program. Using simple, modified smart phones that interact with a code to map the classroom, students were able to view 3D models of planets, coral reefs, volcanoes, weather phenomena and more, as teachers guided exploration and discussion around the standards-aligned activities.   • Farnham Teacher Awarded SVEF Grant

    WOW! We are incredibly proud Farnham's Debbie Clima, who received a Wells Fargo Teacher Innovation Classroom Grant from the Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) to purchase OSMO and Makey Maker kits for her second grade students and classroom and was profiled by 94.5 Bay FM as their February Teacher of the Month!
