Welcome to Farnham!

    4115 Jacksol Drive, San Jose, CA 95124  (408) 377-2103

    May 17, 2019

    Dear Farnham Families;

    I am delighted for Mr. Matt Hill on the approval of his new position next school year as Director of Educational Technology. It’s hard to believe that Mr. Hill has been a member of the Cambrian School District for the last 13 years both as a site administrator at Farnham and Price and a teacher at Farnham. We are very fortunate that he has served the Farnham community as a principal for the last three years supporting our students, families and larger community. He has been a tremendous leader. You may not know, but the first 17 years of Mr. Hill’s professional career was as a software engineer and project lead for an engineering team in the technology industry. His rich background in both education and technology, coupled together, will be an asset to our District in his new role.

    Mr. Hill was unanimously approved by the Governing Board at last night’s board meeting, and will begin as Director of Educational Technology for all of our schools next school year.  We will immediately begin our search for a new principal for Farnham. In the meantime, I would very much like to get your insight as to what we should be looking for in a new candidate. Please use the link below and complete the short survey as to the qualities you believe are essential for the next principal.

    Survey: https://forms.gle/eQhERCKmPLPL9j1k9

    Please submit your responses by Friday, May 24th. As we move forward with the hiring process, my hope is we will be able to select and announce the new principal by the end of the school year.  Again, please help me in congratulating Mr. Hill on his new district-wide role. We appreciate that he continues to serve Cambrian School District.

    Dr. Carrie Andrews

    As part of the Cambrian School District, we proudly partner with our families and community to ensure each of our students possess the strongest foundation upon which to build their future success. Our goal is to serve, support and exceed your expectations.

    As Farnham’s Principal, I strongly encourage every family become involved and engaged in a meaningful way in their child’s educational experience.  Our school is a caring, collaborative community where we develop creative and critical thinkers and foster a strong sense of community.  This allows our school to serve as a shining example of how true teamwork and partnership between the home and school translate into success for every child.

    As a District, we believe all children have value, deserve respect, can learn, can succeed, have a right to the best education possible, and can be lifelong learners.

    Cambrian School District has a rich tradition of excellence and a stellar reputation based upon student achievement, staff professionalism, and parent satisfaction. Our rigorous, hands-on curriculum advances critical thinking and problem-solving skills. At the Elementary level, our schools have seen tremendous growth in student learning. Our highly trained staff continues to carefully connect the District’s mission, vision, core values and beliefs to enhance teaching and learning through the implementation of instructional best practices.

    Together, let’s explore the infinite possibilities in learning for our children!

    Remembering Mr. Dinh

    It is with great sadness that we share that Mr. Phat Dinh, an endearing 2nd grade teacher at Farnham Elementary School and beloved member of our Cambrian School District family, passed away at home on November 11, surrounded by family and friends.

    As many of you well know, Mr. Dinh was an extraordinary man--humble, kind and extremely giving to everyone he met. His students benefited from his passion for education and love of teaching. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, integrity and positivity. He will be greatly missed.
