A big THANK YOU to the Farnham families and corporate sponsors that have already contributed generously to this year’s Giving Program. Our goal this year is to raise $25,000. Please continue to support Farnham by donating to the 2016-17. See the attached flyer for all the details.
We welcome all members of our community to participate in the important job of education
We love our volunteers and have a spot for you, because we believe that Partnership = Success.
The staff at Farnham Elementary School believes that children learn best in a variety of ways. We believe in a cooperative educational community that supports the importance of education. Students, staff, parents, and community leaders share the responsibility to educate our students. We strive to encourage our students to be literate, reflective, citizens who uphold strong educational and social standards. School Parent Partnership Brochure
Game On Farnham is almost here!
Game On Farnham is on Friday April 21! This is an event that engages our entire community – students, teachers, and you! The Walk-A-Thon during the school day and Carnival after school gives us all a chance to come together as a community, enjoy each other’s company, get some exercise and have some fun. Please join us!
Farnham’s state testing window this year for English
Language Arts and Math is in the month of May. Grades 3 through 5 participate
in state testing as follows:
3: Weeks of May 1 and May 8
4: Weeks of May 1 and May 8
5*: Weeks of May 22 and May 30; April 12, 13
(California Science Test pilot)
* Grade 5 also participates in state testing for Science. This year California’s 5th graders
will be participating in a pilot of the new California Science Test
(CAST) which is based on the Next
Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
This test is a state pilot so no students scores will be reported. Farnham’s
5th graders will be taking the CAST on April 12 and 13th.
do everything possible to ensure that students are in attendance the entire
testing window for your child’s grade level and, if possible, avoid scheduling
appointments for your child during the school day while state testing is in
progress. Makeups are difficult for both students and staff.
